Irene Burgess Bush

Herrin- Irene Burgess Bush, age 93, of Herrin, passed away at 5:57pm on Monday, May 5, 2014 in Herrin.  Irene was born in Cleaton, Kentucky on July 15, 1920, the daughter of Victor C. and Clay (Todd) Suddath. She married Ray Burgess. He preceded her in death in 1964. She later married Carl Bush and he preceded her in death in 1983.  Irene was a member of the First Christian Church in Marion. She had served as head cook for the Zeigler-RoyaltonSchool District, retiring in 1985.  Survivors include her daughter- Dian and Harold Roberts of Ballwin, MO Daughter- Sharon Baker of Herrin Son- Bryan Bush of Florecent, MO Grandchildren- Shellie Stodghill and Jonathan Wheeler of Carterville      Brittanie Bush of St. Charles, MO      Alexis Bush of St. Charles, MO      Logan Bush of St. Charles, MO Great Grandson- Seth and Daphne Stodghill of Clarksville, TN Sister- Joyce Calvert of Herrin Several Nieces and Nephews  She was preceded in death by her parents, Husbands, two brothers and two sisters.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, May 9, 2014 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Ron Henwood and Rev. Bill Rucker officiating. Burial will follow at EgyptianMemorialGardens in Energy. Visitation will be held from 11:00am until 1:00pm on Friday at the funeral home.  For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to the First Christian Church of Herrin or the First Christian Church of Marion.
