Herrin– PAULINE SALIBA, age 86, of Mitchell, Indiana, formerly of Herrin, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2014, at Stonebridge Health Campus in Bedford, Indiana.
Born June 24, 1928, in Marion, Illinois, she was the daughter of Webb and Emma (Sims) Burleson. She married Tammer Saliba June 15, 1948, and he preceded her in death, September 9, 2007.
Pauline was a homemaker, and served as an evangelistic singer throughout Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio. She graduated from Marion High School in 1946.
She was a member of the Mitchell Church of the Nazarene, First United Methodist Church in Herrin, Illinois, and the Red Hat Society.
Surviving are her sons, Larry Dean (Susan Joyce) Saliba – Mitchell; David Lee (Marcia) Saliba – Winston-Salem, North Carolina; Stephen Paul (Ginger) Saliba – Peotone, Illinois; grandchildren, Christopher Saliba, Jimmy (April) Saliba, David Lee (Aura) Saliba II, M.D., Hardy (Tina) Saliba, Eddie Saliba, John Saliba, Andrew Saliba; great grandchildren, Lily Faith Saliba, Kinsey Hope Saliba, Emmy Grace Saliba, Malaya Rayne Saliba, Layton Taylor Saliba, and David Alexander Saliba; brother, Bill (Jean) Burleson, Beecher, Illinois.
Her parents and husband preceded her in death.
Local graveside services will be held at 10:00am on Monday, September 15, 2014 at Herrin City Cemetery with Rev. Paul Sims officiating. Family and friends are asked to gather directly at the cemetery. Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin is assisting the family with local arrangements.
