Sharon "Sammie" Dierksen

Lake of Egypt – Sharon “Sammie” Dierksen, 70, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at her home at the Lake of Egypt.  Sammie was born May 20, 1942 in Minneapolis, Minnesota the daughter of Lester and Harriett (Wyatt ) Samuelson.  She married Larry “Dirk” Dierksen on November 4, 1961 in Minneapolis and together they have shared over 51 years of marriage.  She was member of the Lake of Egypt Christian Church and Franklin County Country Club Ladies Golf Association.  Sammie worked in Health Information Management.  She retired as an instructor in Health Information Management with a consortium of local colleges.  She is survived by her; Husband – Larry “Dirk” Dierksen of Lake of Egypt; Son – Logan Dierksen and wife Ann of Mascoutah, Illinois; Daughter – Laurie Orr and husband Gene of Winchester, Virginia; Six Grandchildren;   Karen Gravil and husband Tad of Stephen City, Virginia;   Kelsey Rubio and husband Francisco of Monterey, Mexico;   Kurtis Orr of Winchester, Virginia;   Samantha Orr of Winchester, Virginia;   Katryn Dierksen of Mascoutah, Illinois;   Logan Dierksen of Mascoutah, Illinois; Two Brothers;   Dennis Samuelson and wife Annette of Prescott Valley, Arizona;   Lester Samuelson and wife Joy; Brother-in-law – Dennis Dierksen and wife Karen of Port St. Lucie, Florida; Several nieces and nephews.   Preceded by her Parents  Funeral services will be Friday, March 15, 2013 at 1 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with  Brother Leroy Waggoner officiating.  Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5 – 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
