Colp- Allen Leon Jeralds, 70, of Colp died at 1:25 P.M., Monday, July 9, 2001 at Herrin Hospital.
Mr. Jeralds was born on July 23, 1930 in Herrin to Clarence & Hazel (Davie) Jeralds. He married June M. "Judy" Thomas Jeralds on August 11, 1999 in Marion. She survives of Colp.
Leon worked over forty years as an electrician. He last worked for the Palo Verde Power Plant in Phoenix, AZ before his retirement in 1993. Leon was a member of IBEW Local #640 out of Phoenix, AZ. While in Arizona, he developed an interest in rock hunting and collecting. He enjoyed making jewelry, rock gardens, and ponds out of the different rocks he would find. Mr. Jeralds was an avid NASCAR fan and followed the careers of the different drivers. When he was younger Leon himself, drove the oval tracks. He was quite the outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing for crappie on the banks of the Big Muddy River and watching his garden from the front porch. Leon was a US Army Veteran and was a member of the Herrin American Legion Post.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son; Allen Leon Jeralds, Jr., and one brother; Radene Jeralds.
