Ada Wilson

Herrin- Ada Rachel Wilson, 91, of Herrin, died at 12:56 AM, Friday, September 06, 2002 at Friendship Care Center in Herrin. Ada was born on August 24, 1911 in Alabama to Armit R. & Mary Jones. She married Victor Wilson in 1933 in Herrin. He preceded her in death on May 31, 1977. Mrs. Wilson was retired as a laundry supervisor at Mattingly Nursing Home in Energy after more than thirty years of service and eighty years of age. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Herrin. SURVIVORS: Son- Victor Allen Wilson- Herrin Daughter- Carolyn Bowers- Springfield, IL Several nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, George & David Wilson, two daughters; Connie Sue & Sharon Wilson, and eleven brothers and sisters. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, September 9, 2002 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Maurice Swinford will officiate. Burial will follow at Oddfellows Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be held from 9AM until hour of service Monday at the funeral home.
