Addie M. Stephenson

ADDIE MAE STEPHENSON, age 85, of Herrin, passed away at 11:15am on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at Shawnee Christian Nursing Center in Herrin. Addie was born on January 10, 1923 in Herrin, the daughter of Gillet and Virge Sisk. She married William F. Stephenson on February 7, 1946 in Marion. They shared sixty-two years of marriage, until his death on November 7, 2006. Addie was a retired LPN at Herrin Hospital. She worked as a nurse for Dr. Fine and at the VA Nursing Home. Survivors include four sons- Bill Stephenson of Herrin, IL Albert Stephenson of Bush, IL Herman Stephenson of Herrin, IL Tom and Joyce Stephenson of Herrin, IL Daughter- Jean Meracle of Herrin, IL Grandchildren- Eight Great Grandchildren- Seven Brother- Arthur and Pat Sisk of Chicago, IL She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sisters. Graveside services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, January 9, 2009 at Herrin City Cemetery with Rev. R.H. Chitwood officiating. Friends are asked to meet directly at the cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-9pm on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
