Marion- AGATHA BARGER ECKOLS, age 92, of Marion, passed away at 3:05pm on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Agatha was born June 27, 1917 in Goreville, the daughter of Owen & Mary (Rowe) Russell. She married Roy S. Barger on June 16, 1937 in Mt. Vernon and together they shared over 46 years of marriage until his death on December 2, 1983. Agatha enjoyed cooking for her family and tending her rose garden. For many years she was a member of Marions 1st Baptist Church and more recently a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Bushnell, Florida. She enjoyed volunteering for the Senior Citizens in Marion. She is survived by: Daughter Pat Wiemken and husband Michael of Marion Daughter-in-law Jo Barger of Crab Orchard Four Grandchildren; Scott Barger and wife Kimberly of Crab Orchard Patrick Barger and wife Tina of Crab Orchard Jim Wiemken and wife Holly of Oak Park, Illinois Jennifer Wiemken of Marion Six Great Grandchildren; Cody, Jared, Donovan and Bethany Barger Abby and Evan Wiemken Brother Vernell Russell of Lick Creek Several Nieces and Nephews Preceded by her Parents, Husband Roy, Daughter Carolyn Sue Barger, Son John W. Barger, Brother Orville Russell, Two Sisters Opal Quillman and Bonnie Royster Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Dr. Bob Dickerson officiating. Burial will follow at New Home Cemetery in Eddyville, IL. Visitation will be held from 1:30pm to 3:00pm on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. Watch the Video Tribute
