Alice Lantrip

Herrin--ALICE SANDERS LANTRIP, age 83, of Herrin, passed away at 9:56pm on Monday, January, 14, 2013 at Herrin Hospital. Alice was born in Herrin on October 11, 1929, the daughter of Harry and Marie (Murray) Sanders. She was a member of the Bryan Street Baptist Church in Herrin. She worked as a bookkeeper for J.V. Walker and Sons for twenty-four years, and the Williamson County Housing Authority or thirteen years. After working four years for the AFSCME/Council 31, she retired in 1998. Survivors include two sons- Bruce and Kay Lantrip of Cary, NC Mark and Lisa Lantrip of Stone Mountain, GA Step-Son- Ron and Janice Lantrip of Carterville Six grandchildren- Adam and Lauren Lantrip of Decatur, GA Amy and Marco Friend of Decatur, GA Emily Lantrip of Spartanburg, SC David Lantrip of Cary, NC Mike and Cheni Lantrip of Carterville Steve Lantrip of Chicago Brother- Don Sanders of Durham, NC Sister-Norma Landrum of Austell, GA Several nieces and nephews Close friends- Kevin Fassel and Kraig Fischer of Herrin Many special friends and Bryan Street Baptist Church in Herrin She was preceded in death by her parents, brother and sister-in-law- Paul and Nancy Sanders, and her brother-in-law- Kenneth Landrum. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Herrin Hospital. Your care and compassion is greatly appreciated. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Duane Faulkenberry officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00pm on Friday, January 18, 2013 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to Bryan Street Baptist Church.
