Alice Marie Read

Alice Marie Read, 63, formerly of Sycamore, Illinois passed away on Monday, November 3, 2008 at 3:40 P.M. at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. Alice was born August 17, 1945 in DeKalb, Illinois the daughter of Oris & Irene (Miller) Calhoon. She married Fred Read on June 29, 1968 in Lee, Illinois and together they have shared the last 40 years of marriage. She was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church in Stewart, IL, Fox River Valley Hunting Retriever Club in Huntley, Illinois, Gun Creek Hunting Retriever Club of Marion. Alice enjoyed training Labrador retriever dogs for hunting. In addition to her husband Alice is survived by her son, Matthew Read of DeKalb, Illinois, Sister, Janice Rose and her husband Raymond of Rochelle, Illinois, Brother, Elmer Calhoon and his wife Nettie of DeKalb, Illinois, several nieces and nephews, sister-in-law, Janice Jones of Jackson, Tennessee. Preceded by her Parents, niece Deborah Berg. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 8, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Victor Long officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
