Alma Jean Deskines

Alma Jean Deskines, age 94, of Herrin, Illinois, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Helia Healthcare of Energy.

Alma was born April 17, 1928 in Herrin, Illinois, a daughter of Jesse and Marie (Hogue) Chandler. She married Ryland T. Lowery in 1961. He preceded her in death in 1989. She later married Joseph Deskines. He survives in Herrin.

Prior to her retirement, Alma had worked as a personnel manager for the United States Postal Service.

As per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Inurnment will take place at Herrin City Cemetery at a later date. Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin is assisting the family with final arrangements.
