Altha Marie Perry

MARION - Altha Marie Perry, 90, of Marion passed away at 6:20 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 27, 2003 at her home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday Nov. 30, 2003 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. Pastor Shaw DeMent will officiate. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until time of the service Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fountain Cemetery in Marion. Mrs. Perry was born on April 16, 1913 in Crab Orchard, to William Terry and Minda (Farris) Thompson. She was a homemaker and worked at Sangamon Electric for several years. She first married Raleigh Norman; the father of Rosetta (Norman) DeMent. She then married Otis Perry on November 5, 1939 in Jackson, Missouri. He survives of Marion. They shared 64 years of marriage. Other survivors include: Daughter and son-in-law- Rosetta and Shaw DeMent of DuQuoin Daughter and Son-in-law- Linda and Gary Winchester of Marion Son- William Edward Perry of Marion Grandchildren: Rose Ann Hill of Marion Terry Gene and Vicki Hill of Marion Linda Ann and Nick Vojvodich of Marion Starla Kay and Steve Tolbert of Marion William Shawn and Vanessa Hill of Marion. Seven great grandchildren Her parents, first husband, and infant daughter Glenna Sue Perry precede her in death. Mrs. Perry was a member of McKinney Chapel in Lake of Egypt.
