Alvin S. Heggie

Grand Tower- Alvin Stewart Heggie, 68, of Grand Tower, passed away at 3:30 PM, Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at his home. Alvin was born on July 20, 1949 in Amarillo, TX to William C. and Mary (McPherson) Heggie. He was a retired roofer who owned his own business.  Alvin was an avid fisherman with a commercial fishing license.  His dream was always to live on the river. The last few years of his life, he accomplished this and was able to live on the Mississippi River. Survivors include- Son- Alvin S. Heggie of Texas Son- Jamie “Blake” Heggie of San Antonio, TX Partner- Eileen Otis Hudgens of Grand Tower Seven step daughters Five grandchildren Sister- Evelyn Cutrell of Herrin Sister- Janice Alberd of Sevierville, TN Sister- Catherine Spencer of Wake Forest, NC Sister- Cheryl Cutrell and husband Mark of Herrin Brother- Dennis Heggie and wife Tammy of Amarillo, TX Brother- Floyd Heggie of Ft. Worth, TX Brother- James Heggie and wife Deborah of Woodbine, KS Many nieces, nephews that he was quite fond of He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-Art LaDale. His wish was to be cremated and private family services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Patterson Cemetery in Tennessee.
