Analea Miriani, 79, formerly of Herrin and Murphysboro, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at her current home in DuQuoin.
Analea was born on March 31, 1943 to the late John and Regina (Genesio) Miriani. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. She graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic grade school in 1957 in Herrin and the Herrin Township High School in 1961. Her studies continued at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and graduated in 1964 with an Associate in Technology degree in 1964.
Analea worked for the Federal Reserve Bank in St. Louis as a graphic designer and artist. One of the many highlights of her artistic achievements was when she designed and painted the beautiful painting which became the iconic image placed upon the World famous “Maja” perfume. She also designed many other commercial logos and images used as design proposals for Commemorative coins issued by the Federal Reserve Bank.
Analea returned to Herrin to care for her elderly mother and became interested in pursuing her second career in Nursing. She graduated Rend Lake College as a Practical Nurse in 1997 and subsequently from John A. Logan as a Registered Nurse in 2001.
Analea was an avid dog lover and had many special ones over the years. She enjoyed tending to her flower garden and watching birds. She even had a Hummingbird actually land on her finger which absolutely thrilled her. Analea had a lifelong interest in antiques and spent many hours traveling around Southern Illinois in search of the next special item to cherish in her home.
Analea is survived by her family: Steve (Angelia) Bennett, Sherlene (late husband Gregory) Newell, Keith (Ashley) Bennett, Katherine (Nathan) Burnett, Stephanie Newell (Steve Rudy), Adam (Nara) Newell, and her lifelong best friend Betty Lou Kainz.
Visitation will be held at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin, Illinois on Monday, November 7, 2022 from 12:00 PM until 1:45 PM. Graveside services will be held at San Carlo Cemetery in Herrin, Illinois at 2:00 PM with Father Mark Reyling officiating.
