Angeline Buttitta

Herrin- ANGELINE BUTTITTA, age 95, of Herrin, passed away at 7:40am on Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at her residence in Herrin. Angeline was born in Buffalo, NY on April 21, 1912, the daughter of Vito and Grace (Salemi) Spatafora. She married Pete Buttitta in Buffalo, NY on April 19, 1933. He preceded her in death on October 22, 1999. Angeline was a member of Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. She retired from the Federal Reserve Bank, where she was a computer technician. Survivors include two sons- Don and Didi Buttitta of Herrin, IL; Gerald Buttitta of Anchorage, Alaska; 4 grandchildren- Don Buttitta Jr. and his wife Janet of Herrin; Peter Buttitta and his wife Susan of Herrin; Steven Buttitta and his wife Anita of Rowlett, Texas; and Laura and Michael Fussner of Tampa, FL; 6 great grandchildren-Jeffrey Pierce, Erin Buttitta, Jarrod Fussner, Chloe Buttitta, Emma Fussner, and Matthew Buttitta; one sister- Georgianna McCall of Buffalo, NY. Angeline was preceded in death by her parents, her husband- Pete, one brother- Anthony Spatafora, and one sister- Mary Comass. As per her wishes, Angeline will be cremated. A mass will be held at 9:00am on Monday, June 18, 2007 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin, with Monsignor Ken Schaefer officiating. A time of gathering will be held from 6-8pm on Sunday, June 17, 2007 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
