Marion—Anita Maxine Cook, 73, of Marion, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2013 at her home.
Anita was born on April 15, 1939 in Thebes, Illinois to Henry Monroe & Virginia Pauline (Sickler) Norris.
She was a Licensed Practical Nurse at the VA Hospital in Marion for many years. She also worked several years at the DuPage County Jail and St. Charles Youth Correctional Center prior to that.
Anita liked to sew and crochet in her spare time, but she most enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren watching the Star Trek or the Sci Fi channel.
Survivors include—Son—Mitchell Allen Phemister of Paducah, Kentucky; Son—Mark Lee Phemister of Marion; Daughter—Tracy Lynn Marek and husband Steven of Aurora; Eleven Grandchildren; Five Great- Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Otis Monroe Norris.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Keith Kibbler officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.
