Herrin- Ann Annadel Sullivan, 91, of Herrin, went to be with the Lord at 9:15 PM, Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Herrin Hospital. She was born September 29, 1920 in St. Louis, MO to Fredrick and Della (Fleer) Schroeder. She married Rollie Earl Sullivan on February 3, 1945 in St. Louis, MO. He preceded her in death on June 27, 1954. In her earlier years, Ann worked as a cook in the delicatessen at Borens IGA in Herrin for 25 years before retiring in the fall of 1985. Ann was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin for more than 53 years. She was a member of the Daughters of Mary and washed and ironed the linens for Mass. She enjoyed spending time with her family and will be dearly missed by those that knew and loved her. Survivors include- Daughter- Pat Finney of Arnold, MO Daughter- Bonnie Leeper of Herrin Daughter- Connie Gentry and husband Phillip of DeSoto, IL Daughter- Colleen Hall and husband Jerry of Herrin Son- Rodney Sullivan and Susan of Herrin Twelve Grandchildren: Michael Finney and wife Christine of Parris, MO Randy Finney and wife Cindy of DeSoto, MO Bruce Finney and wife Jeanie of Imperial, MO Jeff Finney and wife Laurie of Mocksville, NC Leanne Schaper and husband John of St. Louis, MO Theresa Menckowski of Herrin Marcey Poshard and husband Jason of Carterville Vicki Harger and husband Terry of Herrin Jay Gentry and wife Amy of Marion Jeremy Hall of Herrin Amanda Hall of Herrin Elizabeth Sullivan of Carbondale Eighteen Great Grandchildren Five great great grandchildren In Heaven, Ann joins her parents, husband, step-father- Harry; 2 brothers- Wilford and Gilbert Schroeder; 1 sister- Marjorie Kroeger; grandson- Keith Finney and son in law- Kenneth Finney. A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. Monsignor Ken Schaefer will officiate. Visitation will be in the family gathering room of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin from 9:30 AM until time of service. She will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Louis at 1:00 PM, Thursday, May 24, 2012 where she will join her husband Rollie. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home/ 201 S. 13th St./ Herrin, IL 62948.
