CRAB ORCHARD- Anna M. Parks, age 86, of Crab Orchard, passed away at 2:15 pm on Friday March 24, 2006 at her residence.
Anna was born in Williamson County on July 7, 1919 to Thomas and Goldie (Killman) Powell. She married Gilbert Parks in Charleston, MO on August 17, 1940. Together, they shared 65 years of marriage. He survives in Crab Orchard.
Mrs. Parks was retired from Smolers Brothers and was former owner of Anns Caf in Crab Orchard. Anne was of Baptist faith and was a former member of the Garments Union.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers- Zane and Dennis Powell, and one sister- Lena Nolen.
Funeral services for Mrs. Parks will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 27, 2006 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Jimmy Lee Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow at Coal Bank Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 PM on Sunday March 26, 2006 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the funeral home. For those that knew and loved Anna, the family has requested that you plant a tomato plant in her fond memory.
