Creal Springs- Anna Mae Sims, age 78, of Creal Springs, passed away at 12:17pm on Friday, March 1, 2013 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.
Anna was born in Crab Orchard on November 15, 1934, the daughter of Louis and Eunice (Tanner) Blackwell. She married Paul Sims in Creal Springs on December 22, 1953. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Sims was a long term member of the Arnold View Baptist Church. A resident of Creal Springs since 1953, she retired from the Creal Springs Nursing Home. Anna loved to be with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting, canning, and being a mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law- Jeffery L. and Moira Sims of Creal Springs
Grandchildren- Gary S. and Christina Sims of Arizona; Heather and Chad Phillips of Pittsburg; Audra and Tyler Owens of Creal Springs; Numerous Great Grandchildren; Three brothers- Jim Blackwell of Goreville; William Ray and Sue Blackwell of Tilden; Don and Gladys Blackwell of Michigan; Two sisters- Betty Jean and Jack Bishop of Creal Springs; Mary Smothers of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband- Paul Sims, Son- Kenneth D. Sims, great granddaughter- Brittany Williams, Sister- Irene Davis, Brothers- Paul and Leon Blackwell.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Monday, March 4, 2013 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Dave Nelson and Rev. Tyler Owens officiating. Burial will follow at Tanner Cemetery, south of Crab Orchard. Visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion.
