ANNE MARIE SALMO, avid music lover and pianist, suffered a stroke at the age of 92 while playing the piano. She passed away 9 days later, at 7:30am on Saturday May 7, 2005, at Caritas St Elizabeth Medical Center in Boston, MA just one day before her 93rd birthday. Mrs. Salmo was living in Watertown, MA with her daughter and son-in-law.
Anne was born May 8, 1912 in Herrin, IL to Angelo and Felicita (DeBernardi) Merlo. She married Angelo J. Salmo on July 27, 1940. He preceded her in death on June 26, 2990.
Anne graduated from Herrin High School and worked at Woolworths, the Lymar Hotel, and the Club Lido prior to her marriage.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Friday May 20, 2005 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Monsignor Ken Schaefer officiating. Burial will follow at San Carlo Cemetery in Herrin. Visitation will be held from 6-9pm on Thursday May 19, 2005 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home, with a prayer service taking place at 6:00pm on Thursday.
