Arthur F. Cooper, 95, passed away at 5:37 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010, in Heartland Regional Medical Center.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010, at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion, with Rev. Tim Ozment officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral Thursday at the funeral home.

Art was born Oct. 17, 1915, in Lawrenceville, Illinois, to Albert B. and Dollie (Sutton) Cooper. He graduated from Marion High School in 1932. He married Ruth Hinkle of Marion, and together they had two children.
He later married June Andrews on January 9, 1950, and had three children. They made their home in Marion and were blessed with 60 years of happiness.
Survivors include his wife, June of Marion; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry Dean and Mary Cooper of Pflugerville, TX; daughters and son-in-laws, Debbie and Glenn Berry of Charlotte, NC, and Stacy and Dan Lintzenich of Marion, IL; grandchildren, Melody and Doug Wood, Melissa and Tom Hicks all of Pflugerville, TX, William Shaw of Oxnard, CA, Danielle Lintzenich of Nashville, TN, and Erin Lintzenich of Marion, IL;
4 great - grandchildren; sister, Alma Loomis of Tyler, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Arthur Ray Cooper, daughter, Cheryl Ann Shaw; brothers, Emmett, Harry, and Roy Cooper.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Marion, where he had worked in the Junior 1 Sunday School Dept. and served as Treasurer. He was a member of Teamsters Local 347 and worked at E. Blankenship & Company/United Manufacturer Services for 32 years before his retirement in 1981.
Art was a kind and generous man who never knew a stranger. He loved golf, his Chicago Cubs, but most of all, his family, who were blessed with his tireless devotion. Dani, Erin, Andrew, Jamie, Alex and Jeremy will miss their special Papa. He loved you all dearly.
