Herrin-Arthur P. Archie Monolo, 81, died 8:00 P.M., Friday. August 8, 2003 at Fountains Nursing Home in Marion. Archie was born June 29, 1922 in Herrin to Robert & Lena (Ruggeri) Monolo. He was a retired coal miner for Freeman United Coal, Orient #3 Mine in Waltonville. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin and the UMWA. He was also a member of the Herrin Knight of Columbus, Eagles and VFW. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II. Survivors Include: Sister & Brother In Law: Teresa & Ralph Cox of Belleville, IL. Nephew & wife: Gary & Karie Cox of Belleville, IL. Niece & husband: Linda & Scott Pearson of Flagstaff, AZ. Nephew & wife: Jeffrey & Krissi Cox of Belleville, IL. Nephew & wife: Robert & Kim Fritts of Mentor, OH. Niece: Linda Scott of Douglasville, GA. Several Great Nieces & Nephews: Kyle, Angela, & Robert Pearson of Flagstaff, AZ. Zachary, Logan & Caden Cox of Belleville Justin & Brandon Fritts of Mentor, OH. Jeremy Scott of Douglasville, GA. Adam & wife Ruth Scott & son Blaise of Douglasville, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Ann Fritts. Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 13, 2003 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home with Fr. John Venegoni officiating. Burial will follow at San Carlo Cemetery in Herrin. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:30 A.M. til 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Our Lady of Mt.
