Marion- AUDREY M. HAYNES, age 90, of Marion, passed away at 1:58pm on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Audrey was born in Zeigler, IL on November 24, 1917, the daughter of Clarence and Lillian (Bristoe) Grounds. Mrs. Haynes was a member of the Ferges Free Methodist Church. She retired from Smoler Brothers, where she was employed for thirty-five years. Survivors include her son- Paul D. Haynes of Herrin, IL Daughter- Sharon and Jerry R. Beasley of Marion, IL Five grandchildren- Bryan Beasley of Marion, IL Tina and Brian Smith of Marion, IL Mike and Wendy Haynes of Herrin, IL Brent Beasley of Marion, IL Amber and Steve Thompson of Marion, IL Nine Great Grandchildren Three sisters- Pauline Frick of Marion, IL Dorthella and Luther Youngblood of Herrin, IL Mary and Joe Cockburn of Johnston City, IL Two brothers- Bill and Judy Grounds of Marion, IL Larry and Marilyn Grounds of Herrin, IL Several nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, her former husband- Paul Haynes, four brothers- Elroy, Ernie, A.W., and Richard Grounds; and three sisters- Maude Oglesby, Betty Oliver, and Aretta Hubbard. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, July 18, 2008 at the Ferges Free Methodist Church with Rev. Ted Cunningham and Rev. Jerry Schell officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Thursday, July 17, 2008 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to the Ferges Free Methodist Church or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
