Barbara Ann Nichelson

Marion Barbara Ann Nichelson, 67, passed away on Monday, August 27, 2007 at 4:30 P.M. at her sons home in Johnston City. Barbara was born November 23, 1939 in Marion to Gilbert & Mary June (Barnes) Jackson. She married William Paul Nichelson on August 17, 1961 in Marion and together they shared over 31 years of marriage until his death in March 1993. Barbara was a homemaker and a member of Third Baptist Church. Survivors include: Son Michael Joseph Nichelson and wife Pam of Johnston City Step Daughter April Mitchell of Carterville Six Grandchildren; Jacob Nichelson of Johnston City Kristofer Ray of Johnston City Jana Fozzard and husband Garrett of Carterville Nathan Nichelson of Marion Kurby Malholland of Marion Two Great Grandchildren; Garrett Wade Fozzard of Carterville Alyssa Nichelson of Marion Several nieces & nephews Preceded by her Parents, Husband, William, Son, William Paul Nichelson II, Two Brothers, Joe Jackson, Donald Jackson and Sister, Mary Helen Shaw Funeral services will be Thursday, August 30, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at Third Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Kallem officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5:00 8:00 P.M. at the Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home.
