Barbra Ann Hess

Carterville- Barbra Ann Hess, 67, of Carterville, died at 4:55 PM, Saturday, November 15, 2003 at Heartland Regional Medical Center. Barbra was born on June 14, 1936 in Herrin, Illinois to Russell & Ruby (Goins) Vaughn. She married Johnny Hess on July 18, 1969 in Herrin. He survives of Carterville. Mrs. Hess worked as a LPN for more than thirty years, working in both obstetrics and the OB, prior to her retirement. She was a member of Walnut Hill Baptist Church in Walnut Hill. In her spare time she enjoyed yard sales, collecting Elvis memorabilia, spending time with her family, growing flowers, music, and playing the organ. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 18, 2003 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Michael Kniffen & Monsignor Ken Schaefer will officiate. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Herrin. Visitation will be from 6-9:00 PM, Monday, November 17, 2003 at the funeral home.
