Barry L. Turner

Herrin- BARRY L. TURNER, age 69, of Herrin, passed away at 8:04pm on Monday, February 5, 2007 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Barry was born on May 31, 1937 in Herrin, the son of Rillis and Wavel (Welty) Turner. He married Doris Sjoblom in Pontiac, Michigan on August 22, 1964. Together they shared 42 years of marriage. Doris survives in Herrin. Mr. Turner was retired from Diagraph Industries in Herrin. He was a member of the Herrin First Baptist Church and the I.A.M. Survivors include his wife- Doris Turner of Herrin; his mother- Wavel Turner of Herrin; two sons- Michael Turner of Tucson, Arizona; Robert (and his wife Sarah) Turner of Alexandria, Virginia; three grandchildren- Mason Turner of Ellisville, Missouri; Natalie and Rachel Turner of Alexandria, Virginia; four brothers-in-law- James and Dana Sjoblom of West Hills, California; Larry and Marion Sjoblom of Clermont, Florida; Roger and Lola Sjoblom of Oxford, Michigan; Richard Iosue of Palmdale, California; several nieces and nephews; one cousin- Donald and Olive Gray of Overland, Missouri. Barry was preceded in death by his father, Rillis, and his sister-in-law- Theda Iosue. Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm on Monday, February 12, 2007 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin, with Rev. Don Grammer officiating. Entombment will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Sunday, February 11, 2007 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home. Memorial donations are suggested to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
