Barry Lee Tate

Barry Lee Tate, age 67, of Carterville, Illinois, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2022 at Integrity Healthcare in Marion, Illinois.

Barry was born July 21, 1955 in East Chicago, Indiana, a son of William V.and Sarah F. (Leathers) Tate. Barry grew up in Momence, IL and attended school. At age 16 he was involved in an auto accident leaving him disabled. He enjoyed fishing and camping. He was a huge of "The Who" and he loved playing guitar and harmonica.

He is survived by five siblings, Kathie L. (Richard) Chrysler of Davie, FL, Betsy (Fred) Kerst of Veedersburg, IN, Vernon (Sandra) Tate of Gary, IN, Tracy Tate of Parma, OH, and Sandy (Bud) Sault of Crossville, TN.  He is preceded in death by his parents, William V. and Sarah F. Tate and one brother, Ronald Tate.

In accordance with his wishes no public services will be held. Private family services will be held at a later date. Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
