Ben Martin Chamness, 88, of Marion, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2016 at 7:20 am at Parkway Manor.
Ben was born January 11, 1928 in Marion the son of Lee and Esther (Hunter) Chamness. He married Betty McClellan on July 10, 1954 in Marion and together they have shared over 61 years of marriage.
He retired from the Street Department for the City of Marion after 30 years. Ben attended 1st Baptist Church in Marion and was a member of the Laborer’s Union #773.

Funeral services will be at 1 pm on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Mohr officiating, the eulogy will be given by Mayor Bob Butler. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5 – 8 pm at the funeral home.
