Marion- BESSIE R. CHIILDERS, age 101, of Marion, passed away at 6:38am on July 22, 2009 at Parkway Manor Nursing Home in Marion.
Mrs. Childers was born September 5, 1907 in Williamson County the daughter of John & Mary (Zoeller) Fisher. She married Rev. Claude Childers on May 14, 1929 in Marion and together they shared over 52 years of marriage until his death on June 7, 1981.
She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Marion. For over 47 years she taught school, teaching in the Marion Rural Schools and Washington Grade School. Following her retirement she continued to substitute teach for 3 years.
Throughout her life, Bessie enjoyed gardening, cooking, quilting and making crafts. She generously donated her time in church activities as a Pastors wife and church member. Bessie loved spending time with her family and friends.

Preceded by her Parents, Husband Rev. Claude Childers, 7 Brothers Henry, Bennie, Bob, Herman, Ernest, Don and Clarence Fisher and 3 Sisters Marjorie Richmond, Florence Smoot and Kathryn Smith.
Funeral services will be held at Noon on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Dr. Bob Wagner, Rev. Larry Richmond, and Rev. Bennie Don Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Energy. Visitation will be held from 9:00am until the time of service on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion.
