Herrin- Betty J. Cutrell, 82, of Herrin, passed away at 8:47 PM, Saturday, January 4, 2014 at her home.
Betty was born on May 8, 1931 in Herrin to James Charles and Susie (Stacey) Triplett. She married Charles P. Cutrell and he preceded her in death. She spent the next 30 years with her loving companion, Pressley Leroy Deckard, until he preceded her in death on March 26, 2000.
Betty was a loving and caring person who was a protective homemaker and babysat for friends and neighbors. She was a loyal, smart and direct person, who let you know her thoughts and opinions on subjects. She was a God fearing, Bible reading lady who attended West Monroe Street Apostolic Church in Herrin.
She enjoyed listening to country music, watching the Dallas Cowboys and playing along with her family in their sports polls.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, longtime companion- Pressley, grandchild- Marty Valco, great grandchild- Dustin Owens and nine brothers and sisters.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Terry Griffith will officiate. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of service, Thursday, at the funeral home.
