Marion- Betty Jo Bush, 78, of Marion, died at 12 Noon, Sunday, August 8, 2004 at Shawnee Christian Nursing Home in Herrin. Betty was born on October 13, 1925 in Herrin to Arthur & Effie (Stanley) Lindsey. She married Edgar Dean Bush on June 15, 1953 in Herrin. He preceded her in death on June 15, 1989. Before her retirement, Betty Jo worked as a waitress for various restaurants in the area and finally with her husband at their photo shop in downtown Marion. She attended First United Methodist Church in Herrin. In her spare time she enjoyed reading Agatha Christie Novels & playing music on her piano. She loved animals and had a cat of her own. SURVIVORS: Step Daughter- Donna Ray- West Vienna Sister in law- Violet June Lindsey- Hollywood, FL Several nieces & nephews: Bart Lindsey- Herrin Dolores McConnell- Herrin Brad Lindsey- Clemmons, NC Robert Lindsey- Oklahoma Rodney Lindsey- Marion David & Steve Lindsey- Florida Rhonda Butterworth- California She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers; Wendell, Emanuel & Howard Lindsey, and two sisters; Ina Mae Lindsey & Floy Lindsey. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Don Colson will officiate. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Herrin. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until time of service, Wednesday, at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Southern Illinois or The Alzheimers Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
