Marion- Betty L. Baker, age 75, of Marion, passed away at 12:45pm on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Marion Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Marion. Betty was born in Jacksonville, Illinois on May 17, 1937, the daughter of Paul and Daisy (Hawkins) Browning. She was united in marriage to Calvin L. Baker on August 30, 1955. To this union two children were born, Tim and Tina. Calvin preceded her in death. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law- Tim and Tracy Baker of Pittsburg Daughter- Tina Pease of Marion Very close and best friend- Jack Whitehead of Marion Life-long friend- Wanda Miller Five Grandchildren- Bryan and Holly Baker of Marion Sarah Langley and partner Rob Hubble of Marion Daniel and Sara Baker of Marion Aaron and Kara Baker of Shreveport, LA Greg Ward of Puyallup, WA Five Great Grandchildren Sister- Shirley and Mick Riley of Mount Vernon Two nephews- Rick and Tracy Blades of Tucson, AZ Darrin Blades of Pittsburg Last but not least, Gracie Mae- Bettys beloved African Gray parrot She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Graveside services will be held at 11am on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion with Rev. Bill Rucker officiating. Family and friends are asked to gather directly at the cemetery. As per Bettys wishes, casual attire is requested. Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with final arrangements. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
