Betty R. Dziurdzy

Carbondale- Betty Dziurdzy, 76, of Carbondale, formerly of Herrin, died at 1:30 A.M., Thursday, August 1, 2002 at her home in Carbondale. Betty was born on April 29, 1926 in Herrin to William Paul & Ruth (Burke) Wiggins. She worked at GC Services as a collection correspondent in Houston, TX until her retirement. Mrs. Dziurdzy was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church in Carbondale. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, cooking for her family, dancing (jitterbug), and watching golf and football on the television. She was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. Richard "Rick" Dziurdzy- Herrin Son- David Randolph "Randy" Dziurdzy- St. Louis, MO Thirteen Grandchildren Seven Great Grandchildren Bro & sis in law- Terry & Rita Wiggins- Merrillville, IN Bro & sis in law- Paul A. & Eileen Wiggins- Colp Brother- Richard Lee Wiggins- Herrin Sister- Pat Hess- Valparaiso, IN Sister- Jan Lattig- Valparaiso, IN Several nieces and nephews Her parents preceded her in death. The funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, August 3, 2002 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Revs. Brad Harlow & Wes Henson will officiate. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 Am until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
