Billy Clayton Triplett, age 57, of Herrin, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 1:24 p.m. in Herrin Hospital.
Billy was born on April 10, 1962 in Herrin, a son of Billy Joe and Marian Lucille (Gregg) Triplett. He married Paula Cuvar on December 19, 1986 in Herrin and she survives. Billy worked as a factory worker for Maytag, Aisin and various other places. He was a very hard-working man who loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was of the Christian faith and loved music, camping, fishing and grilling out. Billy was an avid Arizona and St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Survivors include his wife, Paula Triplett of Herrin; four children, Stormi and Blake Morgan of Vienna, Illinois, Lindsay and Chad Smith of Energy, Illinois, Billy Joe and Melissa Triplett of Marion, Illinois and Hayley Triplett of Herrin; eight grandchildren, Kamdon, Sawyer, Sophie, Lorelei, Tristan, Abram, Delaney and Ruby; four other adoring children who referred to him as PawPaw, Conner, Greyson, Venessa and Ava; one brother, Theodore and Gina Triplett of Carbondale, Illinois; four sisters, Sandra and Virgil Orendoff of Carterville, Illinois, Vickie Delso of Herrin, Pamela Cole of Herrin and Kelly and Curt Byrn of Marion; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Cathy Alsopp; two brothers-in-law, Tom Cole and Arnold Delso; one aunt, Brenda Gregg; and one grandson, Elijah Clayton Triplett.
Funeral services will be held at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Don Colson officiating.
A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
