Herrin - Billy "Duck" Wayne Cooper, 34, died at 4:10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2002 at Franklin Hospital, Benton, IL. Mr. Cooper was born June 5, 1968 in DuQuoin, IL to Joe and Sue Cooper. He worked in the roofing business. He attended the Hurst Methodist Church. Survivors include: Mother - Sue Cooper - Hurst Fiance - Laura Ann Meler - West Frankfort Brother - Joe Cooper and his fianc, Misty Price - Hurst Brother and sister in law - Rick & Jody Cooper - Herrin Son - Cody Wayne Cooper - Murphysboro Daughter - Nikki Griffith - O'Fallon, IL Sister and brother in law - Kathy Ann & Bill Diguid - Hurst Sister and bro in law - Mary Sue & Thurman Mangrum Oxford, MS Sister and bro in law - Hope & Garrett Jarvis - West Frankfort, IL Maternal Grandmother - Sybil Carter - South Haven, MS Paternal grandmother - LaVonne Cooper - Newton, IL Several nieces and nephews His father and paternal and maternal grandfathers preceded him in death. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2002 at Johnson Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin, IL. Rev. Dennis Fager will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Blairsville Cemetery.
