Marion Billy Leamon Chancy, 81 died Monday, September 15, 2003 at 2:30 A.M. at his daughters home.
Billy was born May 26, 1922 to Floyd and Bessie (Horsley) Chancy in Marion, Illinois. Billy married Betty McAnelly on June 20, 1942 in Charleston, Missouri and they divorced in 1965.
Billy had two careers in his lifetime. He first worked as an operating engineer and then returned to the coalmines until his retirement.
Billy was a retired Operating Engineer, U.M.W. of A at Amex Coal and Delta Mine. He was a member of the 1st Baptist Church, Operating Engineers #318, U.M.W. of A., Marion Masonic Lodge #89, Scottish Rites of Belleville. Billy was a WWII Veteran and a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post #1301.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 17, 2003 at 1:00 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Dr. Joey Brent officiating. Masonic Rites will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery with Military Rites performed by V.F.W. Post #1301. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. 1:00 P.M.until the time of service.
Memorials may be made to 1st Baptist Church or TIP Hospice.
