Marion- Billy Marion Carrel, age 76, of Marion, passed away at 5:20am on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at his home in Marion.
Billy was born on August 14, 1941 in Boone County, Missouri, the son of Marion Jackson and Norma Leona (McCoin) Carrel. He married Betty Sue Riggs in Malden, Missouri on June 9, 1961. Together, they have shared fifty-seven years of marriage.
Mr. Carrel was a member of the Marion Church of the Nazarene, as well as a recipient of the Nazarene Distinguished Service Award, the highest award presented in recognition for his service to the church. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan and also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, and woodworking. Billy retired from bookkeeping, but was a man of all trades, including electrical work, construction, and carpentry.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son- Timothy Ray Carrel, and infant brother- Vernon Carrel.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Brother Bobby Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion.
