Bob Burroughs

Marion-BOB D. BURROUGHS, age 78, of Marion, passed away at his home on Saturday, November 26, 2011. Bob was born in Williamson County on December 9, 1932, the son of John and Edith (Grimes) Burroughs. He had retired from McDonald Douglas in St Louis where he worked as an airplane and jet mechanic. Bob was a United States Army Veteran and a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers thirty-five year veteran. Survivors include his son- Blake Burroughs and his fianc Shannon Steckenrider of Marion Son- Jon Burroughs of Carbondale Daughter-Rebecca Burroughs of Marion Seven Grandchildren- Garrett and Rachael Burroughs Aimie Gabbard Jeremy, Misty, Brandon, and Amber Burroughs Brother- Paul and Wilma Burroughs of Marion Bob was preceded in death by his parents, son- Brent Burroughs, former wives- Judy and Shirley Burroughs. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Ivan Ryan officiating. Burial will follow at Grange Hall Cemetery in Marion with military honors provided by Marions VFW and American Legion Posts with assistance from the United States National Guard.
