Freeman Spur- Bob Mooney Mooneyham, 77, of Freeman Spur, passed away at 4:08 AM, Saturday, June 18, 2005 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Bob was born on February 15, 1928 in Buckner to Hal & Mary (Bacon) Mooneyham. He married Joan Zarowsky on December 23, 1955 in West Frankfort. She survives of Freeman Spur. Mr. Mooneyham was a United States Marine Veteran. Once discharged he worked at Old Ben Coal Company and as a mining instructor at Rend Lake College, but he retired as State Mine Inspector for the Illinois Department of Mines and Minerals He was of Baptist faith and belonged to numerous civic and social fraternities; including the Zeigler American Legion and Masonic Lodge, Herrin Elks and the Fin and Feather Club. SURVIVORS: Wife- Joan Mooneyham- Freeman Spur Daughter & son in law- Debbie & Joe Jameson- Lockport, IL Daughter- Pam Mooneyham- Freeman Spur Son & Daughter in law- Mike & Andrea Mooneyham- Energy Daughter & Son in law- Kellie & Bryan Lind- Herrin Grandchildren: Joey & Joelle Jameson Jenny & Tony Reardon Travis Marshall Kadie Lind Chelsey, Cally & Macey Mooneyham Great Grandchildren- Maelynn, Emily & Jaden He was preceded in death by his parents and one aunt; Nina Crawford. The funeral service will be held at 11:00AM, Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Kenneth Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8:00PM, Monday, June 20, 2005 at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to a charity of the donors choice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
