Herrin- Robert E. Bob Shank, III, 50, of Murray, KY, formerly of Herrin, passed away at 9:47 AM, Friday, August 10, 2007 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Marion. Bob was born on January 21, 1957 in Fullerton, CA to Robert E. & Cherie Lea Shank, Jr. He married Katrina Higgins on June 25, 2004 in Marion. She survives of Murray, KY. He was an Air Force Veteran and formerly worked the production line at Maytag in Herrin. He was a member of the Herrin Elks, IAM Machinist Union in Herrin and the Heartland Bass Club. Rev. Don Colson will officiate. Military rites will be performed at the funeral home by the Herrin American Legion and VFW Posts. Visitation will be from 6-9:00PM, Monday, August 13, 2007 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. The Herrin Elks will perform a funeral ritual at 7:00 PM, Monday at the funeral home.
