Herrin- Robert E. Bob Shank, III, 50, of Murray, KY, formerly of Herrin, passed away at 9:47 AM, Friday, August 10, 2007 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Marion. Bob was born on January 21, 1957 in Fullerton, CA to Robert E. & Cherie Lea Shank, Jr. He married Katrina Higgins on June 25, 2004 in Marion. She survives of Murray, KY. He was an Air Force Veteran and formerly worked the production line at Maytag in Herrin. He was a member of the Herrin Elks, IAM Machinist Union in Herrin and the Heartland Bass Club. SURVIVORS: Wife- Katrina Shank- Murray, KY Son & daughter in law- Robert E. & Tammy Lee of Soda Springs, ID Daughter- Miqueal Ann Deram of Herrin Son- Tony Vaugh of Herrin Grandchildren- Kole, Drake & Danika Lee of Soda Springs, ID Grandchild- Jay Smith of Herrin Step Daughter- Kristin West-Higgins of Murray Step Daughter- Katlynn Knight of Murray Step Son- Krashawn Knight of Murray Parents- Robert E. & Cherie Lea Shank of Roseberg, OR Brother & sister in law- Chuck & Anna Shank of Eagle, ID Sister & brother in law- Mary Kay & Bill Roseberg of Oregon Brother- Christopher Shank of California Parents in law- John Higgins of Murray & Jan Morris of Benton, KY Several nieces & nephews The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Don Colson will officiate. Military rites will be performed at the funeral home by the Herrin American Legion and VFW Posts. Visitation will be from 6-9:00PM, Monday, August 13, 2007 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. The Herrin Elks will perform a funeral ritual at 7:00 PM, Monday at the funeral home.
