Marion- BOBBIE M. GREEN, age 82, of West Frankfort, passed away at 4:30am on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at West Side Care Center in West Frankfort. Bobbie was born in Marion on June 14, 1929, the daughter of Robert H. and Ethel M. (Travelstead) Lowe. She married Harry M. Thompson in Marion on July 14, 1951. He preceded her in death. She later married David J. Green in Carbondale on July 31, 1982. He preceded her in death on July 18, 2000. Mrs. Green was a member of the First Baptist Church in West Frankfort. She had retired from Southern Illinois University Law School where she worked as a secretary from 1974-1993. Prior to that she had worked in Marion for several attorneys including Dellos Duty, Charles Winters, Kenneth Powless, and Arthur Melvin. Survivors include her son- Gregory A. Thompson of Odessa, Florida Daughter- Lynn Chapman-Byford and husband Bob of Fort Worth, TX Granddaughter- Ms. Hollie B. Chapman of Burbank, CA Step-Daughter- Ruth and Dan Coffin of Champaign, IL Step-Daughter- Nancy and Jim West of Peoria, IL and sons Philip and Tim Brother- Clyde W. Lowe of Broken Arrow, OK Nephew- Todd and Karen Lowe of South Lake, TX and son Colby Nephew- Thad and Leena Lowe of Leesburg, VA and sons Alex and Kyle She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands- Harry M. Thompson and David J. Green. Private graveside services will be held at Egyptian Memorial Gardens in Energy with Brother Mike Cash officiating.
