Bobby Lee Murphy, 88, of Marion, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2016 at 5:35 pm at his home.
Bobby was born September 30, 1927 in Poordo the son of Troy and Gazell (Parks) Murphy. He married Betty Louise Tillitson on November 29, 1947 and together they shared over 32 years of marriage until her death in June, 1980, he later married Mary Charlene Clendenin on June 6, 1981 and she preceded him in death on April 13, 2009.
He proudly answered the call to service his country, joining the Air Force shortly after WWII where he was a mechanic on the B29 Bomber. Following his discharge Bobby lived in Valparaiso, Indiana for 10 years, Chicago for 18 years, working as a machinist and truck driver. He became an ordained minister in 1961 and worked in various occupations after returning to Williamson County, he was a coal miner, mechanic, ironworker and owned a trash hauling service.
Bobby enjoyed woodworking, restoring furniture and collecting glassware.

Preceded by his Parents, First wife – Betty, wife – Mary, four brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be Friday, August 19, 2016 at 2 pm at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Shook officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 12 pm until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant-Poordo Cemetery.
