Marion Bonnie Ruth Crawford, 86, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at 12:30 A.M. at Rolling Hills Healthcare in New Albany, Indiana.
Mrs. Crawford was born October 2, 1922 in Dorisville, Illinois the daughter of William Drue and Ollie Lee (McDonald). She married Paul James Crawford in Jacksonville, Illinois in 1946 and he preceded her in death on April 21, 1964.
She was a member of the graduating Class of 44 from MacMurray College receiving a Masters Degree in Music. She retired in May, 1983 after 30 years as a music teacher, choral director and school teacher at McKinley, Jefferson and Marion Jr. High schools. Mrs. Crawford was a member of several organizations including; Alpha Kappa Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, Beta Sigma Phi, Beta Leta Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, Marion Womens Club, Marion Memorial Hospital Aux. Candystrippers, NEA and her favorite Wednesday morning Holiday Inn Breakfast Club with the girls. She lived most of her life in Marion until recently in Evansville and New Albany-Sellersburg, Indiana with her daughter.

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Victor Long officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
For those who prefer memorials may be made to the Music Department of the Marion Junior High School. Envelopes will be available and accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home, 800 North Market Street, Marion, Illinois 62959.
