GOREVILLE- Brett Michael Martin, age 36 of Goreville, formerly of Herrin, passed away at 10:30 am on Wednesday December 14, 2005 at his residence in Goreville. Brett was born in Carbondale on August 9, 1969 to George J. and Colette (Howard) Martin. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved spending time with his two best friends, his rotweilers, Benno and Heidi. Survivors include- His parents- George and Colette Martin- Goreville, IL (formerly of Herrin) 2 brothers- Rick Martin- Belleville, IL Chad and Amanda Martin- Marion, IL 1 sister- Heather and Aaron Jerrells- Carterville, IL Grandparents- Mildred and Everett Younkin- Herrin, IL Niece- Amy Emery- Herrin, IL Nephew- Adam Emery- Herrin, IL Nieces and Nephews- Kaleb, Jade and Kara Martin Blake and Logan Jerrells Aunts- Rose and Joe Magyar- Herrin, IL Gina and David Rancillio- Herrin, IL Debbie Howard- California Uncles- Dick and Patti Piper- Goreville, IL Rex and Debbie Piper- Herrin, IL Bo and Susan South- Herrin, IL Beloved pet rotweilers and best friends- Benno and Heidi He was preceded in death by- sister- Sheila Martin Emery grandparents- John R and Jeanette Ferguson grandpa-Don Howard Aunt Kay Gossman Funeral services for Brett will be held at 1:30pm on Saturday December 17, 2005 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev Jim Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-9pm on Friday December 16, 2005 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
