Brian C. Smith

Herrin- Brian C. Smith, age 35, of Herrin, passed away at 6:12am on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at his home in Herrin.  Brian was born in Herrin on December 26, 1978, the son of Howard and Sharon (Baldwin) Smith.  He worked as a warehouse clerk at Wild Cat Hills mine in Equality.  Survivors include his parents- Howard and Sharon Smith of Marion Daughter- Desaray Smith of Vienna Son- Joshua Smith of Marion Sister- Christine Smith of West Frankfort Grandmother- Betty Baldwin of Marion Fiance- Sandy Taylor and her children- Angel, Johnna, and Mallory Michels of Herrin Aunt- Marge and Steve Kerrigan of Marion Cousins- Steve Kerrigan Jr. of Marion and Brad Kerrigan of Royalton Nieces and nephew- Ariel, Bethany, and Theron Snyder of West Frankfort Many Friends  He was preceded in death by his grandfather- Thomas Smith, grandfather- Gil Baldwin, and grandmother- Joyce Colp.  Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Ralph Brandon and Pastor Steve Glenn officiating.  Burial will follow at HerrinCityCemetery. Visitation will be held from 11-2pm on Saturday at the funeral home.  For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to a fund for Brian’s children c/o Sharon Smith.
