Brian Charles (Chuck) Downey

Brian Charles Chuck Downey, 40, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 5:44 A.M. at Herrin Hospital. Chuck was born November 29, 1967 in Denver, Colorado the son of Gerald William Downey and Genevieve (King) Allgaier. He was a truck driver, and had proudly served his country in the Navy. Chuck is survived by: Three sisters; Tamara Keen and husband Donald of Marion Sheri Penley and husband Steve of Johnston City Faith Penley and husband Avery of Johnston City Two brothers; Sgt. William Scott Downey of Ft. Bragg, North Carolina Gerald Brett Downey and wife Shannon of Dublin, Virginia Seven nieces; Brandy Renee Parson of Marion Krystal Mayre Drennen of Potos, Missouri Rachael Erin Downey of Dublin, Virginia Sarah Downey of Dublin, Virginia Rebekah Downey of Dublin, Virginia Ruth Downey of Dublin, Virginia Brittany Nicole Ritchie of Marion Five nephews; Luther Avery Penley IV of Johnston City Anthony Wayne Penley of Johnston City David John Ritchie, Jr. of Marion Shane Penley of Johnston City Steven Penley, Jr. of Johnston City Preceded by his Parents Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 26. 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Monsignor Ken Schaefer officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, with military rites performed by Marions VFW Post #1301, American Legion Post #147 and National Guard Flag Detail Unit. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 5:00 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
