Brian W. "Bud" Stotlar, age 51, of Marion, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
Brian was born July 19, 1971 in Carbondale, Illinois, a son of Richard L. and Anita S. (Phalp) Stotlar. Brian grew up in Marion and graduated Marion High School, class of 1989. Brian was very involved in sports while in High School. He attended John A. Logan College and played on the Vol's Baseball Team. He then attended and graduated SIU with Bachelors Degree in Engineering. He married the love of his life, Skyla L. Hastings on November 11, 1995 in Marion, IL. Brian worked for the family business, Stotlar Lumber Company. Brian loved sports in general, especially baseball. He also enjoyed golfing and fishing. He looked forward to attending his children's sporting events.
Brian is survived by his wife Skyla L. Stotlar of Marion, IL; three children, Ashton N. Stotlar of Carbondale, IL, Amelia G. Stotlar of Marion, IL, and Karsten R. Stotlar of Marion, IL; his parents, Richard L. and Anita S. Stotlar of Marion, IL; one sister, Lynn E. Stotlar of Phoenix, AZ; and his father and mother In-Law, Dale (Nancy) Hastings of Marion, IL.
Visitation will be Friday, August 26th, 2022 from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home, and again Saturday, August 27, 2022 from 10:00AM until 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 27, 2022, 11:00 AM at Mitchell Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin McNeely officiating.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Make A Wish Foundation. Envelopes will be available and accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home, 800 North Market Street, Marion, Illinois 62959.
