Cari Lyn Skelton

Cari L. Skelton, age 48, of Carbondale, Illinois,  passed away Monday, July 11, 2022 at her home.

Cari was born June 05, 1974 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, a daughter of Bill and Carol (Kozelnik)  Danner. She married the love of her life, Bruce F. Skelton on July 16, 2019 in Murphysboro, IL.  Cari grew up in Kansas City, KS and attended nursing school.  She worked as a nurse in the Kansas City area for several years.  She and her husband moved to rural Carbondale in 2010.  She had worked at Heartland Regional Hospital, Herrin Hospital and Carbondale Memorial Hospital. Cari enjoyed working on her property, her pet dog Bacon, watching the deer and her flower gardens. 

She is survived by her spouse Bruce F. Skelton of Carbondale, IL; three children, Taylor Fairchild of Kansas City, KS, Shelby Fairchild of Kansas City, KS, and Jessie Wyatt Skelton of Carbondale, IL;  three step-children Terra Tolbert of Carterville, IL; Bruce Skelton Jr of Buckner, IL; Dakota Skelton of Carbondale, IL; her parents, Bill and Carol Danner of Gardener, KS; two siblings, Brian Danner and Tracey Danner; and her three grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her step-son Scott Skelton of Carterville, IL.

Graveside Services and Burial will be held Monday, July 18, 2022, 2:00 PM at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in West Vienna, with Rev. Donny Colson officiating.
