Carl C. Koehler, 91, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at 8:05 P.M. at his home in Marion.
Carl was born on November 26, 1918 in Rock Creek, Kansas to Louis Carl and Ellen (Clare) Koehler. He married Marguerite Smith on June 8, 1939 in Yates Center, Kansas and together they over 70 years of marriage until her death on October 18, 2009.
Mr. Koehler served in the United States Army during WWII. During the war, Staff Sgt. Koehler was stationed in the Philippines and Luzon. Upon discharge, he worked as a railway clerk for the Santa Fe Railroad until his retirement in July of 1962. He was a 50 plus year member of the American Legion Post. Carl attended White Ash Baptist Church.

A service celebrating Mr. Koehlers life was held by the immediate family at his home, his grandson Kevin Koehler officiated. According to his wishes he will be cremated and his ashes will be buried next to his wife Marguerite in Rose Hill Cemetery.
