Marion- Carl Eugene Garris, Sr. , 82, of Marion, passed away at 5:51 AM, Friday, July 28, 2017 at Integrity of Marion. Carl was born on August 16, 1934 in Williamson County to Beckford and Ruth (Shadowens). He married Alice Jackson. He was a retired mechanic and car salesman. Survivors include- Son- Carl Garris , Jr and wife Pam of Herrin Daughter- Brenda Treece and husband Roger of Benton Daughter- Mary Ruth Deitz and husband Dennis of Pittsburgh Daughter- Rita Inman and husband Jerry of Golconda Daughter- Diana Tippy and husband Harry and Marion Daughter- Patricia Hadfield and husband David of Marion Daughter- Jennifer Oakley and husband Jerry of Herrin Son- Billy Garris and wife Jessica of Johnston City 22 grandchildren Several great grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents, wife 2 granddaughters and 6 sisters. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, July 31, 2017 at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Rev. Don Colson will officiate. Friends and family are asked to meet directly at the graveside. Graveside funeral services were arranged at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion.
