Zeigler- Carl Oglesby, 79, of Zeigler, died at 4:20 AM, Saturday, February 08, 2003 at Herrin Hospital.
Mr. Oglesby was born on October 10, 1923 in Zeigler to James & Grace (Wallace) Oglesby. He married Frieda Bennett in January of 1941. She preceded him in death on September 5, 1989.
Carl was a WWII Air Force Veteran. He retired as a truck driver. He was a member of the Orient American Legion and the New Beginnings Freewill Baptist Church in Zeigler. He was a 50 year member of the Providence Lodge AF & AM in Chicago.

His parents, wife, one son; Carroll Wayne Oglesby, and one brother Arthur Oglesby preceded him in death.
The funeral service will be Tuesday, 11:00AM, February 11, 2003 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Pastor Lee Wallace will officiate. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-9:00 PM, Monday, February 10, 2003 at the funeral home.
